“Humans and robots – the dream team!” – An introduction to human-robot collaboration (HRC)-enabled robotic systems. Online workshop for schools in Saarland and Rhineland-Palatinate.
On January 26, 2021, Robotix-Academy hosted its first MRK workshop in the new year. Under the motto “Humans and robots – the dream team!” Marco Schneider and Stefan Marx, both research assistants at ZeMA, led through the 90-minute event and gave a brief overview of the topic of MRK and how to get students excited about it.
The workshop took place as an online event due to the pandemic and was explicitly aimed at teachers from MINT schools in Saarland and Rhineland-Palatinate. The nearly 20 participants were able to get an idea of how the Academy staff had prepared the topic of MRK in order to present both theory and practice in a clear and exciting way. Simple examples were used to show how human-robot collaboration (HRC) works and what applications are available. In addition, the engineering profession was outlined and the study opportunities in the Greater Region were pointed out. Interactive elements (surveys) during the workshop made the format more lively and enabled a real exchange.
The response to the workshop was quite positive and participants are looking forward to working with Robotix-Academy. Benjamin Gesing from the MINT Zukunft e.V. association. (https://mintzukunftschaffen.de/) who had organized the event, thanked all participants and hopes for lively cooperation between ZeMA and the MINT schools in the Southwest.
