The International Conference on Numerical Solutions to Differential and Algebraic Differential Equations was held on September 6-10, 2021 at the Martin Luther University in Halle-Wittenberg, Germany. The NUMDIFF conference focused on all numerical aspects of time-dependent differential equations and algebraic differential equations. The NUMDIFF conference is more than 30 years old and brings together every year world-renowned researchers as well as young researchers. 174 scientists attended this year’s conference, both interested in fundamental developments and in their practical aspects.
The event consisted of 2 mini-symposia for young researchers with 7 readings each. The first mini-symposium was on beam interactions as three-dimensional structures; the second was on geometric numerical integration. The researcher Juliano Todesco participated in this conference by presenting his research work co-authored with Professor Olivier Brüls. This presentation resulted in a paper entitled “On the exact tangent matrices of a geometrically exact beam formulated on the special Euclidean group SE(3)”.
