On April 20-27, 2022, the “Program your robot” contest took place. With the help of Réjouiscience, the communication and information body of the University of Liège, the University of Liège organized a competition for secondary school students to program.
More than 80 students participated in this competition, which was spread over two dates. In each heat, teams of three students competed against each other, trying to program the most tasks for the collaborative robot Sawyer. This robot is programmed using program blocks, which requires no prior knowledge.
The contest allowed collaborative robots to be presented in a fun way, but other points could also be addressed. Thus, the various advances in the field of industrial robots were presented, as well as the activities of the laboratory (research, practical exercises, Robotix Academy) and also the possible training courses to access the professions of robotics.
