A sixth grade class from the Schengen Lyceum in Perl visited the ZeMA in Saarbrücken on May 30, 2022. About a dozen pupils came with their teacher for a pupil workshop on the topic of robotics.
The employees of the Robotix Academy welcomed the young people and organized the three-hour workshop. First, the pupils got an insight into the structure and research areas of the ZeMA as well as an overview of the study opportunities in the field of engineering sciences in the Greater Region.
After a short lunch break, the workshop finally got down to practical work: Divided into two groups, the pupils were able to program simple pick-and-place tasks and see how the robot performs them. The pupils were very skilled and eager to learn, as they had already assembled and programmed a Lego robot in class.
The response to the workshop was very good, the pupils had numerous questions and were very interested in robotics and related topics. One student stated that he wanted to choose a technical profession later on. So much enthusiasm pleased not only the accompanying teacher but also the staff of the Academy.
