In this way, the Master students gain a holistic understanding of automation with industrial robots. Issues from companies in the Greater Region are addressed. Current research topics are also included and keep the lecture always up to date.

Within the Robotix-Academy, students can also work as scientific assistants (Hiwis) across borders and thus learn how modern project work is carried out at an international level. Later, it is also possible to work as a research assistant.

The RACIR takes place alternately in one of the different regions. Young scientists can present the progress of their work to a broad audience of researchers, professors and industry representatives.

The topics in each case are broad, ranging from automation and human-technology interaction to machine communication, safety issues and even ethics in robotics. The conference also offers opportunities for less formal exchanges at a joint framework program.

Since 2017, a different partner university invites to the Summer School each year and offers the opportunity for exchange on a working level. The workshop is usually complemented by a team-building event and a cultural framework program so that participants can exchange ideas beyond the technical.

In the workshops of the Summer School, various issues in the context of human-robot collaboration are addressed and discussed in order to generate added value for further scientific work. Here, content will be developed that will also be of interest to companies in the Greater Region in the future.

Young people can get an insight into the world of robotics in workshops for pupils at the different research bases or at local schools. They can find out more about the engineering profession and technical courses of study or take part in technology tours and hands-on activities.

Each Robotix partner develops its own concept for a pupils’ workshop. Depending on the research focus and laboratory, the pupils’ activities vary; cross-border workshops are here entirely in the spirit of the Interreg program.

The demonstrators are so flexible that they can be used for initial feasibility studies by users or for training. The applications here range from manufacturing and assembly to the disassembly of products.

Feasibility studies are realized either with the help of mobile demonstrators at the user’s site or at the research facilities. The Academy also offers companies a multi-stage initial consultation service: From an analysis of the current situation to an initial recommendation for action to a roadmap for a corresponding development or research project.

The aim of these events is to present various human-robot collaboration (HRC) systems and to recommend itself to visitors as a contact for getting started in HRC. Through various live demonstrations, lectures and discussions, participants can exchange ideas and network with each other.

It still often happens that feasibility studies or even research or development projects are launched here in a cross-border context.
